Chemical Maintenance, Inc. (CMI) was established in 1972 by Bud Roderick. After discovering that the janitorial supply and equipment needs of local businesses in the area were not being fulfilled, Roderick set out to change that. His vision for CMI was to supply the best products while providing exceptional customer service and training to all staff and customers. Roderick's motto was "Trained People + Correct Chemicals + Proper Equipment = The Winning Team," and CMI has operated by that belief since the beginning.

CMI does more than sell high quality janitorial supplies and equipment. The company has also developed and conducted janitorial training workshops and seminars across Central Illinois and Indiana. Additionally, they have their own private labeled product line, and partner with highly respected national companies for many other products. The CMI team is dedicated to meeting their customer’s with exceptional customer service.

In 2001, Bud passed away and left the business to his sons, Marc and David Roderick. They carried on the same traditions and values Bud instilled in the company from the start. They later sold CMI to Betsy and Brad Parks in 2015. Betsy, who has been with the company for 27 years, was trained by Bud and plans to continue the tradition of CMI being the leading janitorial and equipment supply company in Central Illinois.

While Betsy and Brad will always remember how the company began, they have many exciting things planned for the future. CMI is the longest family owned janitorial supply company in Champaign and they are looking forward to this next chapter of the story; starting with a rebranding of the company and the launch of a new website that features eCommerce capabilities to better service the needs of your company.
